local case study
SwedenBayWa r.e. Nordic is investigating the possibility of building a solar cell plant on land by Lake Stortjärnen, west of Grönviken and south of Lingbo in Ockelbo municipality. The area is forested and there are wind turbines, power lines and a transformer station nearby. We have identified an area of 199 hectares for further investigation.
It is estimated that the solar farm will be able to produce around 110 GWh of renewable electricity per year, which is enough to supply around 22,000 households with electricity per year. In parallel with the application for an environmental permit, an application is being made to connect the park to the grid.
We believe that the solar park will have a significant positive impact on the climate as well as being important for the development and economy of Gävleborg by producing renewable electricity. We also want the park to contribute with nature values and a nature conservation plan is being developed.
