local case study
SwedenBayWa r.e. Nordic is currently investigating the possibility of building a solar park on land north of Borrasjön, about four kilometres south-west of Hjortsberga in Alvesta municipality. The area is completely dominated by rational forestry and is located at the Lyngsåsa wind farm. The study area covers 399 hectares.
The proposed solar park has a capacity of 250 MW and is estimated to be able to produce approximately 250 GWh of renewable energy, which is enough electricity for approximately 50,000 households per year. In parallel with the application for an environmental permit, an application to connect the solar park to the electricity grid is also underway.
BayWa r.e. believes that the solar park will have a positive impact on the climate and will be important for the development and economy of Kronoberg by increasing the production of renewable energy. The aim is that the solar park will also contribute to nature, and a project-specific nature conservation plan will be developed.
