local case study
SwedenBayWa r.e. Nordic, on behalf of Lyngsåsa Kraft AB, has received permission to build a solar park adjacent to the Lyngsåsa Wind Farm. The permit became legally binding on September 18, 2024, making it the first solar park in Sweden to receive a full environmental permit. This environmental permit is valid for the foreseeable future, providing security for those investing in the facility.
A key advantage of this hybrid project is that much of the area is already being used for energy production through wind power, and the solar park can utilize the existing electrical grid for wind power. The development takes place in a landscape dominated by intensive forestry, with no conflicts with natural or cultural values.
The area for solar panels will cover approximately 140 hectares of the project area and is expected to complement the wind farm with an additional 94.6 MW.
