BayWa r.e. Nordic plans to build a 250 MW solar park north of Lake Borrasjön, approximately four kilometres southwest of Hjortsberga in Alvesta Municipality. The area is almost entirely dominated by commercial forestry and is located next to the Lyngsåsa wind farm. The solar park is the largest in Sweden to have received a legally binding environmental permit. The total area covered by the solar park will be 365 hectares.

Estimated annual production
The planned solar park has a capacity of 250 MW and is expected to produce approximately 250 GWh of renewable energy per year, equivalent to the annual household electricity consumption of around 50,000 homes. Due to the large size of the project, reinforcements to the power grid will be required before it can be connected. This process will take time, and the solar park is expected to be operational no earlier than 2032.
The solar park will deliver positive climate benefits and support the development and business sector of Kronoberg by contributing to increased production of renewable energy.
