Dals-Ed Hedmarken

In December 2024, BayWa r.e. Nordic was granted a building permit for a new battery storage facility in Dals-Ed Municipality, with a planned capacity of 75 MW. The site, approximately 1 hectare in size, was deemed suitable due to its access to grid connection and the fact that the land does not conflict with any natural or cultural values.

The facility will temporarily store electricity and help stabilize the energy supply by balancing the frequency of the electricity grid, which fluctuates depending on production and consumption.

This will be the first battery storage facility in Dals-Ed Municipality and will enhance access to renewable energy in the region.

Detailed design and grid connection work are currently underway. The facility is expected to be operational by 2029.
