We welcome our new colleague Sten Barup! Sten has a M.Sc. in Engineering from Lund University and has been active in the wind industry both as consultant and, foremost, on the manufacturer side. He has been working with site assessment, covering the topics of site suitability, energy yield and risk assessments.
Sten has though the years contributed to projects from both Europe, Asia and Americas, with a main focus on northern Europe. Some of his special interests, where he has also developed new methods for analysis, includes CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), wind turbines in icing and cold climates and wind turbulence data treatment. His track record also includes being delegate in the IEA (International Energy Agency) task 19 elaborations of ”International Recommendations for Ice Fall and Ice Throw Risk Assessments” and Swedish delegate in the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) TC88 working group 15 on the elaboration of the new 61400-15 standard covering assessment of wind resource, energy yield and site suitability input conditions for wind power plants.
Sten is looking forward to get a wider perspective of wind farm development and operations as joining BayWa r.e., and last but not least - get the chance to work together with new colleagues around the world!
