BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy developer and service provider, announced the sale of two solar projects to Dominion Energy, one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy.
The projects, developed by BayWa r.e. and co-development partner, Geenex Solar, will add 210 MWdc of new renewable assets across two projects to the PJM grid for corporate offtake.
The two BayWa r.e. projects, Chestnut Solar, located in Halifax, NC and Grasshopper Solar, located in Mecklenberg County, VA, are expected to be operational by mid-2020. “The closing of the transaction with Dominion Energy marks an achievement of yet another fundamental milestone in the effort of greening the PJM grid,” said Jam Attari, CEO BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC. “Our goal is to offer our clients best-in-class projects that will help them achieve their renewable energy goals.”
BayWa r.e. is separately developing over 500 MW of solar energy in PJM for corporate and utility offtake.
