Making an authentic commitment to our planet!
BayWa r.e. is investing in people and planet, putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do. Our sustainability framework is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and we report on our progress regularly in an annual sustainability report.
BayWa r.e. has a Code of Conduct that includes various dimensions of human rights that are consistent with globally accepted standards. We also have a supplier code of conduct for our main suppliers, which sets out the basic principles and behavior we expect from our suppliers.
Sustainability framework 2025
The BayWa r.e. Sustainability Framework 2025 supports the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Therefore, our ambition is clearly “beyond carbon” and success means more than reducing CO2 emissions. From planning and procurement to installation and operations, we’re always looking for ways to go beyond what’s required of us.
Our framework addresses social, economic, and environmental challenges with three priority objectives:
Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
Improving transparency in global supply chains
Fostering community acceptance of renewable energy
Code of Conduct
BayWa r.e. has a code of conduct that includes various dimensions of human rights that are consistent with globally accepted standards. We also have a supplier code of conduct for our main suppliers, which sets out the basic principles and behaviour we expect from our suppliers.
Here you can find our code of conduct, which describes how we work towards creating a better future.
Working with natural values and biodiversity
We are strongly committed to protecting and enhancing the natural value and biodiversity of the sites where we operate. Years of study and experience have refined our processes, enabling us to integrate measures that preserve habitats and promote thriving ecosystems into every stage of project development.
Many of our technologies incorporate additional steps to protect or even enhance habitats for insects, birds, and other wildlife. For us, success means going beyond mitigating environmental impact – it’s about sharing the benefits of sustainability with the natural world.
