BayWa r.e develops, builds, and manages renewable energy facilities
BayWa r.e. is transforming into an Independent Power Producer (IPP). Our activities include the planning, development and construction of wind, solar, and battery storage systems (BESS), their operation and maintenance as well as energy trading.
Since our founding in 2009, we have delivered more than 6 GW of renewable energy to the grid and currently manage over 10.5 GW of assets. Some of our projects are sold to companies investing in green energy, while others are retained as part of our long-term business strategy.
BayWa r.e. is jointly owned by BayWa AG and Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP).
BayWa AG, headquartered in Munich, is a publicly listed company operating in agriculture, building materials, and energy – three sectors that meet people’s most fundamental needs: food, shelter, and energy.
Energy Infrastructure Partners is a Swiss fund manager and a leading investor in energy infrastructure. Managing more than €5 billion on behalf of institutional investors, EIP is committed to long-term, sustainable development.
About BayWa r.e. Nordic
At our Nordic company, we are around 40 colleagues based in Sweden and Finland. Our headquarters is located in Malmö, but we also have a local presence in several other locations across both countries.
BayWa r.e. Nordic has been active in Sweden since 2014 and in Finland since 2022.
We are proud that within our Nordic team, we have all the in-house expertise required to successfully develop renewable energy projects, along with the knowledge and experience needed to manage installations professionally and with a long-term perspective.
A responsible company
BayWa r.e. regularly reports on its progress in sustainability and its performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas using indicators based on the internationally recognised Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards.
We have a Code of Conduct that addresses various aspects of human rights in line with globally accepted standards. We also require our main suppliers to follow a Supplier Code of Conduct, which outlines the fundamental principles and behaviours we expect from all our partners.

The BayWa Group
At BayWa r.e. we are part of the BayWa Group, founded in Bavaria in 1923.
This means our history goes back more than 100 years.
BayWa has its origins in agricultural co-operatives, where it supplied the countryside with everything that agriculture needed. Today, BayWa is active in agriculture, building materials, and energy, which meet our basic needs for food, housing, heat, electricity, and mobility.
BayWa is still characterised by its co-operative roots and, in line with this, sustainability is a major focus of the business. We take responsibility for the common good as well as the interests of future generations.
BayWa has had a long and successful history and trust, stability and innovation remain its core values, as they were when it was founded.
