Lyngsåsa

BayWa r.e. Nordic has, on behalf of Lyngsåsa Kraft AB, submitted an application to the County Administrative Board of Kronoberg to build a solar park on land adjacent to the Lyngsåsa wind farm. Major advantages of this project are that the planned site is already used for electricity production, and the solar park will use the same connection to the electricity grid as the wind farm. Thus, project will not affect local agriculture and presents no conflicts with the existing natural and cultural features of the area. The project area is limited to 170 hectares, and it will produce an estimated additional 110 GWh of renewable electricity annually.

Project Location

BayWa r.e. has consulted with the relevant authorities, the municipality of Alvesta, individuals concerned, and the general public. The consultations dealt with the location, design, and footprint of the photovoltaic plant, as well as any environmental effects the installation may have.

BayWa r.e. completed the Lyngsåsa wind farm in 2021. The facility consists of 22 Vestas V150 wind turbines, each of which has a rated output of 4.3 MW. The total wind farm has an output of 96.4 MW and produces around 315 GWh annually. The hybrid park will be able to produce an estimated 425 GWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to the usage of approximately 80,000 typical households.
